Patient with breast cancer and BRCA breast cancer gene mutation. She had bilateral breast augmentation many years prior to breast cancer diagnosis and wished to maintain natural appearing shape, feel and size.
Bilateral mastectomies were performed with immediate reconstruction her own abdominal tissue sparing the abdominal muscle (DIEP flaps). Breast implants were placed behind the DIEP flaps at the time of planned second stage operation for additional volume and appearance.
Right breast: DIEP flap breast reconstruction with implant behind flap
Left breast: DIEP flap breast reconstruction with implant behind flap
